On your confirmation that you would like to hire us and if we have your wedding date available. We will ask for a booking form to be completed, and a Deposit of $400.00 to secure your wedding date, full confirmation will be emailed or faxed. Full payment for all photographic services upon collection of initial imagery, internet banking preferred.

After a booking confirmation a pre wedding meeting is essential. If possible please bring along any ideas from magazines you may have and any lists or notes that may be useful in describing the style you may like. Samples of Miles's work in albums will be provided for clients to look over, these will vary from the sample images available on www.milesholden.com.

Miles chooses Canon's Highest resolution pro digital SLR at 17.2 megapixel camera available. For Quality and reproduction we have found impossible to match with a 35mm negative equivalent. So we are encouraging clients to choose this digital medium over film, however we still offer 35mm /6x4.5cm/6x7cm shooting with film for a variety of looks. Digital has revolutionized wedding photography as we knew it. It also gives an instant confirmation of each image, this has eliminated the uncertainty that has always been there with film.

As a professional commercial photographer Miles has worked on intimate through to very large budget commercial stills shoots around the world. He has a passion for snow sports and landscape photography but shifted his focus to shooting weddings early in his career. Weddings and commissions form the majority of his work. He also submits his snow and landscape photographs to many publications and image libraries in New Zealand and overseas.

In thirteen years Miles has completed over twelve hundred weddings he has developed a very strong understanding of his requirements as a professional wedding photographer. Always working in constantly changing conditions with people not used to being photographed where re-shooting is not an option.

Location shots are a fun moment to take some time to breathe on your wedding day, and have a few laughs. Miles encourages all couples to take time to do this; it's a great time to relax. Queenstown is one of the most photogenic and fantastically situated towns in the world. We have so many diverse locations on our doorstep, united by sheer beauty and convenient access: you can fly there in a chopper, drive or walk. We can arrange helicopter location packages to close by peaks or exclusive remote locations very few people have ever been.

Wet weather is a fact of life, We have experienced several wet weddings over the years. Dealing with the cold and rain is testing at times, Over time we have discovered some great inside locations and these have proved useful as backup! We also have 10 black umbrellas, just in case.

Rebecca assists Miles with lighting and gear, also providing a second camera when required she makes the difference, especially organizing large family portraits where it is essential that all combinations are captured. Working as a team Miles and Rebecca have had the chance to experience many special weddings and forever capture the spirit of the occasion.

Who will be taking the photographs at our wedding? Can we meet with the actual person taking the photographs?
Miles personally photographs all weddings (I am My Product!) His personality at your wedding is as important as his technical ability. No one can fake experience....!
A second professional photographer will be commissioned for our premium package.

How many years experience have you had? How many weddings have you photographed in this time?
Miles started professional photography in 1992 shooting candid event and tourism imagery, then after some inspirational work as an assistant during 9. He decided to break out on his own specializing in weddings. In the eleven years as a Professional wedding photographer Miles has completed almost 1400 weddings. Enabling him to practice and develop a very high end technical style for his clients.

Do you have back up equipment if something goes wrong?
Always!! We have a very secure practiced system and always allow time for preparations of backup cameras/ cards/ batteries/ flash. Digital Images are backed up using three different mediums immediately after the wedding is completed. This also includes out of town weddings.

Will there also be an assistant?
Miles Has three experienced photo assistant's he use's depending on availability and shoot requirements. Rebecca his wife and life partner proves an important part in the smooth running of our wedding photography; also she alone has assisted in over 350 weddings to date. Offering a calm Nature, Rebecca is fast thinking and born to communicate and organize. When You Book with miles Holden The assistant will be included in the package cost. (Note: runaway package will not include assistant)

Will you stay longer if required? If so what are the rates for the extra time?
Yes I will stay longer if required, nothing is a problem. Each of my packages has coverage designed for certain aspects of the day it is essential to have a plan regarding your photographic needs. Our time is designed around your plans. We are here to help.

Do you have package deals?
All our deals are packages with absolutely no hidden costs or charges and can customized to suit exactly what you had in mind. What ever you want....

How many hours does the price include?
All depends on the package you choose, each package has an approximate time limit however this is an indication only and we would prefer to address coverage and time on a wedding by wedding basis.

What is your payment and cancellation policy?
$400.00 deposit non-refundable with confirmation of your booking unless prior arrangement. Payment in full on receiving your images and CD's/DVD's.

Do you offer any type of guarantee?
We stand 100% behind all our commissioned assignments wedding photo imagery and day to day photographic output. No matter what...!

What happens if we both have our eyes shut when you take our photo?
You wouldn't guess in a million years but we even have state of the art eye opening Computer software from Europe.

How long will before the pictures and discs will be ready?
Depending on the clients requirements however generally the largest of weddings (600 images +) would take no longer than two weeks including NZ postage.
International postage is also available - we have complete back up off all images on file in case of any problems in transit.

How long do you normally keep the negatives for?
We don't keep The Negative's. Why should we they are yours unless we still require them to print your album. (one of our strongest sell points is that we do not partake in chargeing markup extra on reprints this gives clients freedom to ).
With digital you receive all images, delivered on Duplicate CDs or DVDs depending on the amount, as JPG's high resolution for print & low resolution for web and email.

Will you dress accordingly to our wedding?
Absolutely Miles and Rebecca pride themselves on their personal presentation and enjoy the opportunity to get dressed up for a special occasion.

What camera equipment do you have and how secure is it?
Miles use's the highest resolution digital camera Canon has available at 17.2 mega pixels. It is the dream camera of many photographers out there. After using the Canon system now for 12 years Miles has found the new digital age very reliable given that a few basic rules are followed.
And no film will not come even close to its quality. No matter what any one says. I know this from experience.

What if it rains, do you have umbrellas?
Yes we have four black umbrellas and we also have the inside line on some really top wet weather spots if location images are rained off. Some of my most memorable wedding images have been on rainy days please don't be put off.
